I know that there are a million reasons to believe that this simply can't be or isn't true - not for everyone, at least.
But what if, in fact, it is? What if the Universe is designed to make sure that, eventually, we all find our way home?
I've stepped in lots of potholes over the last several years. In fact, there have been so many that it would lead one (namely, me) to believe that I was on the wrong track. Because, again, we love the idea of purpose. There is a particular thing we're supposed to find! A special thing we're meant to do!
After so many years of searching around I'm pretty sure that whatever purpose we have is designed by us. We decide. We don't have free will in certain areas and not in others. We have free will in all ways - including what we decide our life is going to be about.
Some of us want big things and big lives and others are perfectly content to never cross an ocean or start a business. And this is all perfectly fine, right? In fact, I think that it is more than fine. I think it's a good lesson for us all. There are lots of ways to live, and the only standard for how successful a life is should be how authentic it feels.
Because there is only one thing that really bums me out when I observe other people - when I can see that they are living a life that isn't suited to them. They are in the wrong state or doing work that does absolutely nothing for them or are with a spouse that isn't giving them what they need.
They aren't moving with the flow of their own lives.
The great thing, however, is that the flow is always there, showing us the way, pointing us in the right direction. And this, of course, ensures that the Universe is designed to help every one of us out. It's designed to make sure that, eventually, everything turns out okay.
Better than okay.
If you're working outside the flow in your own life, know that all of the directions you need to create that entirely authentic life for yourself are at your disposal. You simply ask: What next?
And wherever you're drawn, that's where you go.
